Get Your Life in Order
Looking to better yourself this year? Me too! This year for me is about getting my life in order. I want to simplify my life, organize, lose some weight, be debt free and just, in general, be a better version of myself. Here are a few of the things that I'm currently obsessed with that have either recently come into my life and love or ones that are staples. I hope these items help you better yourself.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
This past weekend I decided to do the Marie Kondo method of tidying. She has an awesome book and she even has a Netflix show now. I've only done my closet so far but basically, you throw all of your like items in a pile and pick up each piece to see if it sparks joy. She says to begin with clothing and to start with something you wear often and feel good in. Then you'll know what kind of joy you're looking for. You continue through all the different sections of your stuff looking at all like items together. She recommends going in this order: clothing, books, paper, Komono (which is essentially everything else) and sentimental. Going in that order will help you have a handle on what brings you joy by the time you get to the sentimental items. She even has special ways to fold everything. My dresser looks magical now!

Nalgene Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle
I have to say this bottle is awesome. I am always dog-sitting or out playing kickball late at night. It's great if you're trying to find it in the depths of the back of your car or you wake up in a house you don't know and just want a sip of water. Also if you have pets like golden retrievers that shed a ridiculous amount, this bottle is great for keeping dog hair out of your beverage.

Leuchtturm 1917 Hardcover Medium Dotted Journal
Anyone that's around me for a certain amount of time knows that I am truly obsessed with this journal. I take it with me everywhere. It's dotted so I can write, draw and basically do whatever I want in this book. I jot down notes, my budget, a weekly planner and a monthly calendar. I love how it lets me do my own thing but also has dots and page numbers already built into it for some structure. I also love Faber-Castell pens for all my writing needs.
